It is such a simple recipe and takes about 5-10 minutes to stir up. This mix is gluten free, soy free, nut free and vegetarian! Majority of the ingredients have a long shelf life, so you do not have to constantly re-purchase. You probably already own most of them!
Ingredients:
-1 tbsp. of lemon-1 slice of lemon
-a pinch of ginger (or a couple fresh slices)
-a pinch of cayenne pepper
-a pinch of cinnamon
-1 tbsp. of honey
-2 ounces of apple cider vinegar (make sure it has "the mother")
-8 ounces of water (cold or hot depending on preference)
-optional: mint
Directions:
Pour all ingredients into a glass and stir! It's that simple. I like to let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes before drinking - that allows time for the lemon and ginger flavor to release into the water.A couple of things I want to mention... The taste for example, if you are looking for something that tastes delightful, then this may not be for you. This drink is designed to help you feel better, not necessarily taste like a chocolate milk shake or strawberry banana smoothie. Another thing, if you have a sensitive throat or stomach, you may want to lessen the portions and start small. The cayenne pepper, ginger and apple cider vinegar combination can be a little tough to get down. I include lemon, honey and cinnamon for a smooth texture and to balance out the taste. They also have great health benefits! Lastly, if you are allergic to any of these ingredients, do not drink! Otherwise, enjoy!
